Having a baby changes you. Not just in the obvious physical and lifestyle changes (bigger hips, bigger boobs, sleepless nights, lots of take-out dinners, hours spent cooing and staring at our little miracle...what did we do with all that time before baby?), but in a way I can't really describe. I guess the best way to explain it is the fact that I actually want to start this blog to share our lives with all of you. I thought I had just missed the generation of bloggers, but low and behold here I am typing my first entry of what I hope will be many.

To update everyone, Bill and I welcomed into our lives a beautiful baby boy, Dylan Robert Flynn, just over a couple months ago on July 8, 2008. He has been and continues to be an absolute blessing and a daily reminder not to sweat the small stuff in life.
Over these past two months it has been amazing watching him grow and develop new skills...he recently started reaching for things, Bill and I swear we heard a giggle the other day, and he now rolls over onto his stomach every night in his crib (which, as a new mom, totally freaks me out since they pound it into your head at the hospital that babies
must sleep on their backs…but should I tie him down?...I figure I was put to sleep on my stomach when I was a baby and I have lived to tell about it, so I'm trying not to worry too much). Needless to say, we are completely in love with our little man.
Cooper (our spoiled puggle) is no longer the "only child" and has been adjusting a bit slower than anticipated. Thankfully he has been nothing but sweet and loving with Dylan, but his little "gifts" left around the house are sure signs that he is, pardon the pun, pissed with mom and dad.
Earlier this month we took a trip to Boston for my cousin's wedding (congratulations Marissa and Tyler!) and to visit family. We were a bit apprehensive about traveling with an infant, but Dylan was a total champ on the plane and throughout the trip. He attended his first Red Sox game in the rain, rode on the T (subway), and slept through lunch at Regina's pizza (best ever).
That is going to be all for now. Just so you know, it has taken me almost 3 days to write this short amount because of Dylan's refusal to take a nap longer than 20 minutes and my inability to figure out how to place a picture where I want it on this blog. More to come...
